Herdsires - White

Herdsires - White

LCA Commander Ice is simply a stunning example of the "ideal suri" phenotype. His well balanced and sturdy frame is covered with a very uniform and tightly locked, super fine suri fleece, which exhibits extreme luster. It is rare to find a suri with such uniformity of tight twisted lock, starting at his head, down his neck, continuing across his blanket to his rump and tail.

Each year the competion at alpaca shows seems to get tougher, and tougher, with white classes leading the charge. None the less Commander Ice still stood at the top of the class at the 2007 IAO show winning first place, Grand White Male Champion. He then rose above every male suri entered in the show to win the Supreme Male Suri Champion. LCA Commander Ice's sire Ice Dancer was awarded the male supreme champion award in 2005.

As breeders of high quality livestock, we choose our herdsires not simply by their phenotype or show record, but rather by their breeding value. We want to select herdsires that will consistently pass the positive traits under selection on to thier offspring. The best way to predict breeding value of young herdsires is by looking at the performance of their close relatives. LCA Commander Ice's dam is a stunning Inca daughter Luster Queen and his sire is the imcomparable Ice Dancer. Commander Ice's pedigree includes the notable Accoyo imports Inca, Ganador and Uribe.
